What year touring ?

Photo is identified as "1928, Gilmore, Idaho".
What are those items protruding from the front of the car ? Right front fender has a fatigue split. Lot of rough road there.

For those who may have known Gilmore in times past, i believe that's the rear of the Jaegger Hotel that shows behind the gents in the front seat.

Looks like a bumper bracket to me. Maybe the bumper had a hard life too.

Looks like 1919-1921. Front maybe something used to push a snow plow? It has forks in front so ?

According to the MFTCA encyclopedia top bow sockets were oval in 1917. This car appears to have the oval bow sockets when expanding the view. The rectangular sockets came in 1918 and forward. The 17- early 22 Tourings look almost alike other than the details.

I vote for 1917 - May or later due to the windshield configuration.

I am thinking July 4th. Note the small US flag on the drivers side cowl light.

Pre 21, rivet in front of rear door, body molding on rear quarter, possibly 18-20.

My vote is for 1917 because of the oval top bows + square felloe wheels.

I would say car is a 1917 for the same reasons others have said. Although on my small phone screen the wheels look to have oval fellos, which a 1917 would have had. After a closer look the fellos are the square type, car might be a early 1918. If we had xray vision and could see if the seat frames are wood framed then it could be a early 1918 made in late 1917. The WW1 war shortages required Ford to go back to using more wood in body framing.

I agree, mid to late1917 model. Oval top sockets, I think round felloe wheels, and the 'rivet' (bolt) ahead of the rear door. In addition to all that, I think I can see enough to believe it has the small electric horn button on top of the steering column.
Nice transition car photo!

as a 1917 model year that T could be a year old by the 4th of July, 1918. This T looks as if it has had some use. The dirt roads did make a T look older in just a few weeks.

The photo is dated 1928 - although such notes are often incorrect. I do think it would take more than a year for that split in the fender to develop, but maybe not ?? Any thoughts about the photo showing us an eleven year old car ?

Looks a bit chilly for July 4th. What's the elevation? (And just how much has that young fellow behind the wheel had to drink?)

Gilmore sits at 7,109 feet. Sometimes it snows a little every month of the year, but yes, it looks more like June than July.

Remember, men in this era wore long johns, and long sleeves shirts and a jacket most all the time even during the warmer months. At least some did. My Grandfather did here in Texas. He wore overalls over his long Johns and the regular union blue light jacket to match his overalls.
The cracked front fender shows that this car had been on the usual rough roads and probably did it’s share of bouncing around. It probably didn’t get washed down until it rained and that was it.

It looks like the wheel fellows are of the rounded edge type, and with the oval top bows would put it at 1917. Ray

As to the date of the photo / age of the car:

Are those white / grey tires? If so, that might indicate the photo was taken earlier than 1928. Also the car still has its top boot. Not sure how many Model T's still had the boot after 11 years.

In 1979 our department at work had a picnic at the Meadow Lake campground. It is 2000 feet above Gilmore on a gravel road. Joy and I drove our Racer #28. With the Warford it took the winding climb quite well. As we scooted around the picnic sites an older gentleman flagged us down and asked about the car. "How'd ya like an Overhead Valve setup for it?" Having looked for one for my Speedster for years I was very surprised. I asked the price.
"A hundred bucks" he said firmly.
Would you take $75?" I had to try.
"Nope!'
We met him at his home in Arco a week later to pick it up. The bare head was accompanied by a child size suitcase with the rocker arms, valves, springs and all but one push rod. All the manifolds and bolts were there. The only drawback was it turned out to be the low compression model for trucks. It still has been a nice addition to the Speedster.
You never know where things will turn up. A mountain lake above a ghost town was unlikely.
That's a fine photo and any of the fellows could have been related from their looks.

That car looks pretty good to be 10-11 years old. I'd guess those guys are brothers ... and you didn't mess around with their sisters.
