I bought such a hood 15 years ago. It came with an aluminum handles. The original has cast iron handles. I have owned my 1910 since 1946 and I was informed long ago that the difference of a 1909-10 hood from an 1911 hood was that the 1909 and 1910 hoods had cast iron handles. The very first 1909 hoods were sheet steel, so we are referring to the most of the 1909 hoods and all of the 1910 model year hoods. There may be some overlap in1910s and the first 1911 model year after August of 1910. I am puting some items togeather for the Farmngton swap meet on one item is a nice aluminum hood in the 1910 style, but with aluminum handles. The reproductions go for $355 plus shipping. So what is a straight original worth? It seems that perhaps I should have used that hood on my 1910 since it is the very same as the reproduction sold to me for my 1910. I have checked current catalogs and the hoodis listed as 1909-12 and with aluminum handles. I seems that it would not have added much cost to have made cast iron handles. This means that all 1909 and 1910 Model Ts that claim to be perfect restorations are not perfect if they used the reproduction hoods.
