Ring Gear and Pinion

Post by FundyTides » Thu Jun 17, 2021 7:38 am

Anybody know if a ring gear and/or pinion from a Model T will fit a 1925 Star. My interchange manuals don't go back that far.

Wouldn't think Ford gears would work. The 1925 Star is listed with 'bevel gear pinion, and ring'. And the Durant mfg. cars of that time used them, the pinion bevel gear is part of the stub shaft too.

Thanks Dean, I have a guy looking for a ring and pinion for his Star and thought it might fit. Doesn't sound like it.

I have a 26-28 Chevy ring gear and pinion for sale on AACA web site. Look at it and see what you think. Dan

I have fitted Ford model A and also V8 gears to some unusual rear axles. Could be worth checking out.
