Tuning an Aermore

Post by Jem » Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:23 pm

Just picked up an exhaust whistle with adaptor for my Model A. Doesn't sound quite right so I checked each tube with the air gun. The 2 deepest notes don't toot so well, any one got tips on how to check the alignment?

Thanks, that post was helpful. I think mine is also a Lucas repro, certainly that's the name on the valve assembly. Looks like it needs some work.

Here is an ad from when Fulton was making them and another Forum post with more info.

I got an Email from Stan Lucas asking me if I was the artist who helped him with his Lucas Logo. It showed a cartoon character driving a car with his Lucas whistle blowing. I wasn't the fellow but reminded him we knew each other from steam car tours. He had given my wife a ride in his Doble. I can't find the cartoon yet but maybe later. Or someone else will find it.

Low and behold, here is the cartoon that appeared with the whistle ads in his tire ads.

It was done by a Dan Eagle.
A wolf whistle rather than the 4 tube version he was also selling.
