I am getting ready to remove the top on my 1927 coupe. I want to reuse the rain rails. How do I remove them so that they can be reused? It looks to me that they are just on the left and right sides of the body. Also, what is the best way to detach the front and rear connections to the body? The attached four photos show the connections and the inside of the top. The first photo is the front.

To remove the top wood you have to take the interior out first, most of the fasteners are covered by the headliner except for the ones above the doors. Remove the top material to get to the top bows as they are attached from the top side. The wood rails that go around the front sides and back are attached from the bottom side
Original rain gutters in nice shape are rare, take your time with those to reuse. The rain gutters are made of 2 pieces, one slides over the other to cover the nail heads, sliding them apart after almost 100 years is difficult. If you cannot remove the slide in cover due to age and rust it may be better to pry the entire rain gutter off the top as one piece using a putty knife to get behind it, then once removed apply heat to it to break up the rust.

Maybe he is just going to recover? If so, the interior would not have to come out.
