Stromberg RF adjustment

Post by Bruce Compton » Sat Jul 03, 2021 12:18 am

Does anyone have info on adjusting the economizer arm on a Stromberg RF carb? It's run from a cam on the throttle shaft similar to the one on an OF but the RF cam does not have a slope and just runs parallel to the rollers on the arm. It's supposed to richen the mix as the throttle opens but the position stays the same as the cam is flat. Thanks in advance. Bruce

see if you cannot find evidence of this "bump" in your cam which someone has apparently fixed for you...

Thanks Henry and Scott. My cam has the hump as shown but I was questioning the additional adjustment on the economizer arm itself that apparently changes the angle or approach of the rollers to the cam. I have 5 different economizer arms and they all have slightly different positions for this adjustment. I also have the Stromberg factory "book" for these "Airplane" carbs and there is no mention of this adjustment.
