Stevens transmission stand

Post by R.V.Anderson » Mon Jul 05, 2021 12:18 pm

I never knew these existed until I saw this ad in the May 1926 Ford Dealer magazine. Does anyone out there own one, or even seen one?

There was one that looked like it at the Petti Jean Auto museum in Arkansas. Danny

I have a much larger version of that ad that I can email if anyone would like to be able to see it better.

I meant "my" ad, not the one that Sean graciously posted.

That’s another shop tool from the T and A era that probably wound up at the scrap yard after many years sitting in the corner of a shop or old garage. Most people wouldn’t have known what it was for.
Maybe Stevens had a shop tool catalog for Ford T’s that would have a complete list of what was available.

There are several versions of Stevens Speed-Up Tool catalogs out there - Donnie Brown did a dandy large format copy earlier this year or last.

I have one of Donnie's and also a copy of an earlier one, around 1920, but neither has the stand listed. Of course it's possible that the stand wasn't developed until after the earlier catalog was printed. The ad was from 1926.

OK, now to repeat my earlier question: Does anyone have one of these babies?

RV, I've never seen one and it's not in either of my catalogs. I'm going to do a good search next time I'm in Glendale and see if there isn't one hiding somewhere.

You might the main stand somewhere but finding the attachments will be harder. Good luck! The bench model might be easier to find but——————————!
