Anyone who wants a TT truck is not well in the head. I say this as a person who
only wants a TT truck, so take that for what it's worth ! 😜

I paid $1000 for this more/less complete truck:
25asfound.jpg
After a little thought, I decided not to subject the wifeperson to yet another
project, and paid $8000 for this one:
26 2016 aug 25 1.jpg
It looked good, and was a driver, but after spending half again that amount to
straighten out haggard wiring, an entire drivetain rebuild, and numerous other
details, it is *almost* ready to go anywhere. It presents well at 25', but is an un-
restored, refurbish-as-you-go original.

A friend came up with a truck identical to this one, needing only paint to really
look like a twin. It was actually a nicer truck, sans paint. He could not give it away
for $3750.

I've seen people sell super nice examples, that all the work I've done has already
been done for slightly higher, and many TRY to sell trucks needing everything for
prices around what I paid for mine, and they just sit on them.

A lot has to do with how they are equipped, but ultimately, most people want the
cars, so a seller is confined to a narrow buyer's market of sick-in-the-head truck
lovers who don't mind going slow and what they are willing to pay.

Let's see those pix ! 👍

Lotta levers in that cab. Does it have a Ruckstell and aux. transmission?

While I have driven my truck on the freeway, traffic was sparse and I hitting 50 is just out of reach
with a well balanced engine, a few performance additions, and express gears. The math says adding
a typical OD aux. transmission should allow a comfortable 55 cruising speed.

Ruckstell is underdrive only, so no speed advantage there, so ... if it was genuinely driven at freeway
speeds, it likely has express gears and one of the aux. trannies that has an OD gear. Maybe TWO aux.
transmissions ? Either way, brakes are still rated for dirt roads and 20mph, so whoever was taking it on
the freeway was fool, brave, or both !

Got photos of the lower cab panels ? Are there doors ? What sort of bed is on it ?

The Giant Power head is a well known aftermarket item. Uncommon, but not rare.

It is an open C-cab with no doors. It appears to have a dump bed on it. SO, Ruckstell and Warford would be appropriate for LOW-speed hauling of aggregate loads. I doubt they would have, originally, had high-speed gears in the rear end, but they might have been added after it's hauling days were over.

Good Luck,
Terry

That is some pretty terrible rust! That's going to bring down the value a lot.

As a truck, I'd say if yuo want to sell it NOW, put $2500 on it. If you want to goof around,
put $3500 on it and see if anyone bites.

It's a cool truck, but it takes a special T person to want one, and T people tend to be cheap !

Not running. So the entire drivetrain might be in excellent shape, or it might need thousands in repair. It definitely needs to be gone through. For many of us the body only needs some clearcoat to prevent further rust, it looks great like it is. Looking at the front seat, most drivers would be pretty swuenched up against the steering wheel, not comfortable for distance driving.

It is a low value vehicle, so you are basically limited to those within easy hauling distance, not many would pay big bucks for transport.

A niche market. But there are those of us who think that truck is as pretty as any restored T. So you have to find someone close by who likes old trucks and has the bucks to put into an uncomfortable vehicle that has little practical use. We are out there, but we are few and far between, and you need to find one of us who is close to you.

If you are going to sell it, I recommend you not do any more work on it unless it is to get it running and driving.

$2,500 firm as is. Running and driving add another grand.

Hope you find a good home for it!

That surface rust truck looks great to me. Oil the rust & leave it that way sort of finish.

the rusty look was what jerry sr. was after
he used to drive this truck into the salty water at pismo beach
i like the look too dont think i would want to drive a nut and bolt resto
2500 seems fair i'm not trying to conquer the world with this truck
sorry for the sporadic post im running late
thanks to every one that posted an opinion

C-Cab doors are extremely difficult to locate - a consideration in pricing ?
