Maybe OT but help with Milling Machine

Post by Dan Hatch » Wed Jul 28, 2021 11:28 am

I use my mill to work on T engines, so may pass smell test. If not move it to which ever forum.
Got a Newall C70 DRO on my mill. Has gone south. Need keypad. Newall no has, too old. Anyone have any leads on a keypad. How about input on another DRO. Good, bad reviews.
Thanks For help. Dan

FYI guys. Newall has an exchange program. You can send on your old DRO display for reduced price on a new display. Works with your old encoders. About same price as new Chinese DRO. Dan

Improper display and totally locked up? There is a secret code that will unlock them.

I’ve got “Shooting Star” digital readout on 3 machines. They have been totally reliable and are allegedly made in Canada!!

I thought the general secret code for Newall DRO’s was these four numbers: 1937. The last two mills I’ve serviced that code was familiar between them.
1913 Canadian Touring & 1905 Queen, both cars are 4 generation family owned cars

What mine problem is that some of the buttons will not work and it beeps by itself as long as power is on. Seems that is a problem with the keypads when production went to Mexico. This is second keypad, but it is a 2000 production.
