is there any fixin to the rubber coated coils?- i've been going through a bunch of coils getting them in working condition rather than letting them set around collecting dust, i found one that's coated in what looks to be plastic, and no way to open it,is this like all other [new] stuff-a toss out,or is there a way to make it buzz again, here is some pictures of my system i built years ago to keep my ford buzzing.the 25 engine i'm getting ready to take to a show, its been setting for years, i'm going to bring it back to the living the 25th of this month, thanks for your help, [hate to toss any thing ]thanks to Bill Harper for the hogs head, we will hear another coughing back to the running.

Unless the windings are bad, you can gently heat the removable panel to warm up the tar on the one side and lift off. It is held in place by the potting tar. Some people do like the plastic cased ones, esp in area with high humidity, they don't swell up.
