Model t skis ?

Post by joemac » Sat Sep 18, 2021 4:31 pm

Picked up some skis and cannot find any info on them.
Assume they mount to a detachable rim . Anybody know the manufacturer of these skis .

Likely homemade from my experience with being around such things. The two major manufacturers never made skies in that fashion, but similar to yours was popular with home builders.

Looks like a bare rim would fit in the slot with the center bolt fitting through the valve stem hole on the rim and wheel.

Besides the six major companies that made complete snow vehicle attachments for Model T's there were several smaller companies that made just the front skis for automobiles so they could be driven through the snow with chains on the rear wheels. These skis might be from of these manufacturers or a nicely made Homemade/Blacksmith version. Either way, what a great find!!!

Your artifact is so cool. Love the home made parts you find for T's. I had front anti rattlers made out of piston rod caps on mine.
