Since the horn on my 1916 T has lost it's brass part sometime in the last 105 years I now made a cone by myself as I did not find an original part.
From the 'bay' I got a fairly cheap trumpet and cut off the cone with an iron saw.
It does not have the perfect shape or diameter but does look fine enough for my taste.
After removing some lacquer from the rim of the horn I used a two component glue which should dry out transparent.
Result looks fine to me - will let it sit for a week to have the glue fully hardening and hope the construction will stand the vibrations ...

That looks great! Now you will not have to worry about the plating wearing thin.

Re: Completing my manual horn with brass
A few brass rivets would probably hold it on well and look good.

Highly appreciate your positive feedback.
The glue proofs very strong, first ride without problems and the new brass part shining in the sun.

Re: Completing my manual horn with brass
The horn looks great, but I would second the comment about brass rivets. I have never encountered any sort of chemical fastener (glue) that will stand up long-term to constant vibration. It may be six months or six years, but in my experience, you are going to lose that bell as it is presently secured. I have even seen FAA approved bonding agents fail. Ask any old-time flight instructor about Cessna 150 - 152 tubular landing gear steps.
