WIZARD CARBURETOR Looks NOS WESTERN AUTO

Post by StevenS » Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:47 pm

Here is a WIZARD carburetor, looks NOS. It was sold by WESTERN AUTO. I just got it cleaned up and ready to use. Though I would post some pictures of it. I removed the heater ring since I plan not using it. In the last picture I posted some float valves for comparison. The one on the top is a FORD one for a NH carburetor, the next one down is the one that Scott Conger makes for the NH carburetor, and the one on the bottom is the one out of the WIZARD carburetor.

Yes, I believe Simmons made it for Western Auto from what I can tell.

The float valve that Scott Conger makes for the NH Carburetor fits in the Wizard Carburetor and works. Should be a good replacement part for it.

Many years ago I picked up a NOS simmons in Oregon. Has the same automotive test sticker on one side of the bowl & a simmons decal on the opposite side. No brass plate. I have another version in the cabinet with a brass tag like an NH, but says simmons. There is a third version called a duplex. All the same carb with the weighted flapper for the idle circuit. Nh needle/seat unit interchange. Jett & mixture needle are different to the NH.
