My great uncle Jeff was in WW1 had a helmet like the boy on the hood is wearing. Years and years ago as a boy visiting him he was using his old helmet as a dog dish in his back yard. Brought back that memory seeing that picture! It was around 1955-6. I had just started school and was getting the Polio shot they were giving to school kids.
