Digging through an estate collection of Model T parts and came across this KR Wilson fixture. I think it is for checking connecting rods. It has a number A335 cast in it.

Am I correct?

Any KRW tool with any A number is usually for an A . Go to the K R Wilson the oil page and you can probably find it. Dan

Will work on T rods with a smaller dia mandrel. The important test gauge piece is not shown. Heavily rusted plate surface is no bueno.

The missing piece is called a "Sea Lion".

The sea lion is descriptive of the appearance of the gauge piece used on a number of rod alignment tools. However, a mate has a complete KR Wilson set-up, and the missing piece here looks nothing like a sea lion. Rather, it has four arms and at the end of each is a small stud/pointer which become the indicators that show mis-alignment.

These tools have round bars onto which the big end of the rod fits. You need multiple bars for different sized rod bearings to be able to use the fixture with accuracy. A better solution is to have one end of the bar milled into a square. Then, with the bar set with one of the flats on the horizontal, any number of different rods of different sizes an be checked. My more modern fixture came with just three interchangeable square fittings, and these allow rods from T models to large tractors to be checked on the one fixture. My engine shop gave me their small square because they have never had a use for it, nothing modern being as small as a T bearing.

Thanks everyone for your help. I did some research online and found this page from a KR Wilson catalog. Looks like it is for Model T, A, and Fordson rods.
