I'm not sure what this part is called.

What is the part called that the nut connecting the copper line connects to on the side of the magneto contact? I need to buy a new one and I don't know what to ask for.

That is a magneto plug to make connection between the magneto and the wire to the switch. It also has an oil pipeline to supply oil to the front of the engine. The oiler is an accessory and helps very much in keeping a constant oil supply to the front of the engine. The Ford oil line is on the inside right side and ends near the timing gear. It often gets clogged and then you have no oil to the front. This extra oil line will supply an additional source of oil.

Officially it's the magneto contact assembly, more commonly known as the mag post. Yours is the 26-27 screw-in version. But yours is also part of an accessory outside oil line kit, not a stock Ford part. I don't know if it's sold separately from the kit.
It appears you have an earlier engine with a 26-27 hogshead that has at least one of the reinforcing bolt holes broken off.

Thanks for the responses. The part I need is the connector between the oil line and the magneto contact. It is threaded from both ends. You can see mine is a bid chewed up. I need to remove this part to pull the magneto contact to check for lint. Seems I have a backfire problem while running on magneto. What is this connector called?

You've got me there. I can't tell you a name. I would take it to a well-stocked hardware store and see if it's a common plumbing part that can be matched. if nobody comes up with the name, I suppose the other option is to buy a new oil line kit for about $30.

That fitting isnt a common plumbing fitting typically.
Agree, a new kit is the simple answer, unless you have machinist capabilities.

Most likely a 1/4 inch oil line and if that is the case, it is very possibly a 1/4" 37 degree flair to 1/8 NPT: https://fastfittings.com/products/brass ... ht-fitting

In plumbing terms, we describe that piece as nipple. The threads are a different kettle of fish. Most likely the end going into the mag post is 1/8" taper thread. The outside end will be different, and may well be that which has been posted before, but, it will depend on the end of the pipe. A flared pipe will take a different end than one which uses an acorn fitting. If you go shopping, make sure you take the oil line with you so you get it right.
