I picked this up at a swap meet today. I've never seen a wheel like this. Made by Stout's Manufacturing Co in New York. Anybody have any Information on these steering wheels? Any idea what year the column is? It has the early riveted case.

Yes, I owned one a couple of years back, and sold it for a pretty penny.

How's about a photo of it in the "open" position ?

It’s great fun to see something I’ve never seen before. It’s makes me dizzy, but I love it!

I'm working on getting the "open" pictures. It's been in the closed position for a LONG time and it kind of likes it there. I've got it soaking in penetrating oil and it's going to have to wait until after Hershey, so hopefully it will be moving then and I can post the open position. I stumbled on it at a local swap meet. there was a guy there with it in his hands dickering on a price, he just thought it was on old piece of junk that would look good in the garden with flowers growing up it. Luckily he put it down and I couldn't get over there fast enough! I've never seen one. Ya never know what you'll come across.

Here's one I have, a little different, same principle.
