That's the Pacific NW hey Rich.

-9C (15F) here this morning. Just a trace of snow. Glad we did the fall colour tour a week ago!
Celebrated Canadian thanksgiving on Saturday with a deep fried turkey. A great adventure.

I’m glad I live in (southern) Michigan! About 80 here yesterday. I saw 84F on I-75 in western Ohio yesterday.

Even here in San Diego County, it is colder than usual today. Last time I looked at the outside thermometer it was about 55F. That's cold for daytime here.

39 and 38 overnight for the last two days here in Portland Oregon. ;) Don't expect daytime temps to be that high today. I would heat the shop up, but by time all the iron got heated up, it would be time to quit.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

We dipped to 20°F this morning in Klamath Falls, 4200' and the frost was heavy on the car. This is a bit early and we should have a bit more Fall before Winter sets in.

... North American weather.... if it's "normal", that's abnormal.

Great fall day here, about 72 and sunny.
Went to a friend’s farm up the street and got some pumpkins and they gave the wife some nice mums too !!

In our Northern Califunny foothills, we went from running the AC twelve hours a day to lighting the propane heater in one week! We usually get about a month or more between them. Last spring it was only a week between the two also. And we had a lot more really hot days this past summer than we have ever had since we moved to here.
The first five years here had plenty of days over 100 degrees. Most of the recent eight years had very few really hot days. The truth is that anomalous years are normal, and occur almost every ten to twenty years.

I can just imagine folks trying to crank their Model T’s in 20-40 degree weather in the 30’s and 40’s when T’s were still being used on the farm and just another old used car, I’ll bet that was an experience. But they did it! How times have changed!

How quickly things change. The snow was gone in a couple of days and the weather got better. The last 3 days were perfect for work outside and in the shop with the big door open. I ran some errands and found this note on the window when I came out of one store. Folks are enjoying the reprieve. How could we have more fun?

It's suppose to drop 20 degrees or so. I'm not sure we will have great days like this again till Spring.

A couple things which have been on the news the last few days.
Antarctica, coldest temperature ever on record!
California, Worst drought since 1923. So you see, the climate has always been changing!
I have even read about warm blooded animals frozen in the ice caps. Animals which don't even live in those parts today.
Man is very vain to think he can change the climate! One volcanic eruption can cause more CO2 than all the industry and automobiles we have. Same with the massive fires which have raged the last few years in many parts of the world.
In the past, when climate changed, the people migrated to more temperate regions. People near the seacoast moved to higher ground. Around Camp Pendleton in Southern California are areas on the hills to the east with terraces caused by former beach fronts. The sea level has actually declined or the land has risen since that time.

Hate to disagree Norm, but the terraces at Camp Pendleton were formed by Marines doing calisthenics. Ask me how I know 😉

Summer is over for me. Spent a day bringing in wood from the
woodlot for the shop stove. The last cord or so, I leave on the truck
and just park it there in the shop as a ready source. This winter the
engine will come out for a freshening, so it was "just time" to wrap
up the fun and games and get down to business. When spring comes
around, I should be back together and in fine shape for a lot of good
backroad driving. 👍
