Car Show At My School (NYC)
Hello everyone, hope you, your families, and your T's are well.
This Sunday the 24th from 12:00 to 16:00 my school will be hosting a car show through the school's automotive club which I am a part of. They asked me if I knew anyone with cool cars and I figured I'd let you all know about it. I plan on taking Lizzie to it (though she has an engine knock which I am trying to fix before driving the 2 miles to the campus, sounds like a loose rod cap). You're all welcome to come, my club asked my school for permission to have guests come on campus and they approved. The address is: 6 Pennyfield Avenue Bronx, NY 10465 SUNY Maritime College.
There is a $20 entrance fee, which goes towards our club. The money collected will be put towards a project car for us to all rebuild and get back on the road, and likely also to do some hands-on engine work on my T with the club. I know most of you don't live anywhere near NYC nor would you want to come here (which is understandable), but I just thought I'd just let you know.

Sounds like a great project that should be done more often. Problem is that if I leave from Brookshire, Texas today I won’t be there till Thanksgiving….

There are some T drivers in the NYC area, so you may get some if the $20 doesn't scare them off.

Wish I could go. $20 doesn't scare me off, sounds like it's going to a good cause to help further the hobby with youngsters. Good going

Check with some of the other T Clubs in the area and see if they’re game. You can find them listed on the home page under “About” and then chapters. Good luck and thanks for supporting the schools and getting the youth involved.

$20 ticket price is is nothing in that neck of the woods. Even for Tolls.Steve Jelf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:46 pmThere are some T drivers in the NYC area, so you may get some if the $20 doesn't scare them off.
As of April 11, 2021, drivers with an NYCSC E-Z Pass pay the prices shown. [/b].
Mid-Tier NYCSC E-Z Pass users pay a slightly higher rate. Everyone else, even if you have an I-Pass or EZ-Pass from another State pay the Video Mail rate. Its is almost impossible to get to the Maritime College without paying a toll somewhere on the way. Having said that and having lived there, residents are used to it People living on Long Island will pay the highest rate because of the bridges they need to cross, next highest are those needing to cross the Hudson River via tunnel or bridge.
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

So glad I live in the Midwest. Only time we pay a toll is to get around Chicago and there are ways to avoid that.

Re: Car Show At My School (NYC)
Yeah the tolls here can get ridiculous. To go over some bridges it’s $16.

Re: Car Show At My School (NYC)
I thought it was interesting that crossing the Goethels Bridge from New Jersey to Staten Island cost me $16, but leaving Manhattan by way of the Lincoln Tunnel was free.
Kansas has one toll road that I know of, the Kansas Turnpike, and Oklahoma has several. I studiously avoid all of them. I pay for perfectly adequate roads with my tax dollars, so I use them.

Steve Jelf, I was told just yesterday that it’s free to enter New Jersey but it costs you to leave.
