It's a heck of a lot if you drop it on your foot.

it will take some time to heal your foot but the block could be ruined

Ruining a good block would be a terrible thing to do. However, your foot might grow back just fine!
About a year ago, I limped for about two weeks when I dropped something heavy and stuck my foot between it and the concrete floor! It wasn't an engine block, can't remember now what it was? But I did save it from being broken! (The model T part, not sure about my foot?)
I do find it hard to believe a bare block would weigh more than a hundred pounds? This past summer I did a much needed cleanup of my better storage shed (my mini-barn!). I had to several times move four good bare blocks and one almost complete long-block (most of the motor less head, pan, and transmission). I still lift the bare blocks fairly easily. Although, the long block wasn't as easy as it used to be.
