***1918-1925 Model TT Ruckstell Axle Assembly***

On the 1918-1825 drawing I call out the two differentials and the years of their change so as not to confuse them with the 26-27 drawing. The thing is that once the differential is buttoned up, there is absolutely no way to see which pinion gear setup they have. So it seemed that the best way was to call them out by their years and the pinion gear count. But both the early 2 pinion Ruckstell and the later 4 pinion Ruckstell through 1925 had the same Shift Lock Assembly, which is why I only made this one drawing for both. The next assembly will be the 1926-1927 with the later (bottle) version of the Shift Lock Assembly. And then of course I'll be drawing the Shift Lock Assemblies themselves, because even though they look similar to the car versions there are substantial differences between the TT's and the car versions.

There is also another difference on early 1918 TT rear ends. The real early ones, the brake plate was riveted on to the rear end housing. See the small hang down, about an inch or two long, on the bottom of the rear end housing where the brake plate attaches.
Early one with rivet.
Here is a later one with no rivet holder hang down.

Steven, hmmm, that's very interesting, but I don't want to make another drawing just to show that, I think I'll add a call out with that information, maybe with a boxed depiction as well, never hurts to provide all the info I can possibly get on a drawing....thanks!

I didn't know they made Ruckstells for cars or trucks in 1918?
