Victor Head Lamp 1913?
Is this a Victor #1 lamp? Lamp body is black, top is brass plated steel. I have never seen one of these.

Hey Jeff!
What'd ya do, get another car to flip? LOL....sorry on the lamp...can't help ya. I know some '13s had Victor #2s, but need to have
better/more pics of this one to tell. I wish they would mark them better.
I've been down with pnuemonia the better part of a month now...slowly crawling out of the rabbit hole!
Keep calm and drive on!

Re: Victor Head Lamp 1913?
A side view would have been nice. My '13 touring came with those lamps. I think they are ugly, and chose not to use them. The tops were not brass plated steel that I'm aware of, but could have been. If I were to use them, I would brass plate the tops. All of the Victor #1 lamps are scarce, and they made two styles of tailamps, square and round. A photo of the round one I saved is pictured in Bruce's book.

Tim,
This will be a total restoration, should keep me busy for a couple of these looooong Minnesota winters.
Larry,
I thought this may be the 1913 Victor lamp mentioned in Bruce’s book that he did not have a picture of. Here is the only other picture I have, when I get the car home I would be happy to send you more pictures.

I have three of the victer #1 headlights. None of them show any evidence of brass plating on the chimney which of course does not prove they were or were not not. I also have a pair of #1 side lights and 1 each of both styles tail lites

This is a NOS Victor #1, or used very little. It shows no indication of brass plating on the steel bonnet.

Wow pre15...! You REALLY have one of the incredibly elusive Victor #1 square tail lamps with the 4 ‘foldovers’restraining the brass chimney top with embossed script?.. how blessed you are ....and with matching cowl lamps too??
I don’t know why I turned out this way. My parents were decent people.

Jim:
Thanks for posting that photo. They are around, but scarce. Donna Jones in Sebastopol has a pair of them on her '14 roadster. Kim Dobbins has a pair of them also. I saw a photo in the La Jolla history museum a few years back that showed a '13 touring with those lamps. It's the only photo of a '13 I've seen with those lamps.

Larry,
Interesting that your ‘13 started life with the Victor lamps. Our cars are only a week apart in assembly. Mine started life as a Touring. Whether or not mine had Victor lamps from the factory one will never know but it could be likely.

In 2008, at the Big "T" Party in Indiana, there was a pair of Victor #1's in the swap meet that had solid brass bonnets, not plated.
