I thought somebody here would know about this tool. It looks like it would be useful but I can’t figure it out. The bearing sandwiches between the 2 tapered parts at the top. Grease goes into the tube that is made onto the base and there are holes in the part that screws on to allow the grease into the bearing. I can’t figure out what pushes the grease. There are no springs, valves, plungers or anything. The round rod visible in the picture is welded in place and the whole assembly stands off of the mounting surface about 1/2”.

In your first photo that "stub" sticking up from the base is the valve, same as a tire, it is pneumatic. If memory serves me correctly, there should be (or should have been) a plunger inside that the air pressure would push up and move the grease.

Many thanks. I see now that is a valve. My friend gave me that yesterday, said he’s had it many years and didn’t know anything about it.

To use it correctly, you will need to mount on a Model T rear axle housing! This is about the only picture I could find doing a search, but didn't look real hard!
