[image][/image]I bought this Holley carburetor at Hershey last October and before I rebuild it I’d like to know if anyone has owned / used one before? I can’t find any pictures or drawings of the exact model. Not sure if it’s a variant of H model.

That carb is an updraft where the majority of T carburetors are side draft. If that intake manifold is spaced to fit the ports on the block, then it could be used on a T. However the choke and throttle linkage would not line up so you would need to figure out some of sort of adaptors. That carburetor is either made for a different car, or the manufacturers wanted to sell you a whole package of parts to make it work on a T.

There are a few like that on eBay listed under Ford Model T parts, don't know if brass bodied, but look the same.

I have not seen another like this on ebay or any other post.

I've seen Holley Bros carbs with similar shutter-type intake hot-air bypass but they were a different model. Earlier than our cars and will not likely perform with any improvement from later puddle-type carbs. Unless you're particularly adept at such things, the float valve may well present a decent challenge, along with reworking the main jet needle (casually chucking it in a drill and sanding on it may not bring improvement you seek...define the angle of the taper and then do everything you can to re-point it dead true and straight). Everything else should be straight-forward, with decisions all along the way, as in "should I replace the throttle shaft and rebush the body?" (the answer being "yes"). Should be an interesting project but do it for the enjoyment, not for any planned improvement over anything else you have on the car right now.

I'd be polishing it up to be a conversation piece and putting one of your U&J's on that manifold and go "zoom- zoom" as Stan Howe would have said......lol

That is a very early Holley bros carb.
This one came with a 1913 Empire touring parts car we got to go with the restored car that is in the Greenville Area Historical Society’s museum.
Dykes manuals from the early teens have some information about them.
The carb on the restored car is slightly different than the one pictured but is the same vintage.
