I love the radio antenna on the running board of the Coupe with the three guys standing next to it.

I am amazed that 50 x 150’ lots were selling for $4000 and $5000 per lot in the desert!

Tom, I’d buy the book if these were all in it. What treasures , and I’d guess a lifetime collection. Maybe a “retirement project” idea?. Note the rare exception of a stock model T. Most all were well loved and well accessorized by their keepers. I , for one, really appreciate the effort to post these.

Michael , I’m thinking that’s Miami Beach, not the dessert. That money couldn’t buy a handful of sand there now.

Number seven appears to have a radio direction finding antenna sitting on the running board.
Number three seems to be made of two cars....looks like a front axle on the back-the wheel is slightly turned.

Dunedin to Clearwater is less than 5 miles, today. I’ll bet that old girl didn’t start out as a “swayback” !

I think those lots were $4.00 and $5.00 each. Those are decimal points on the sign, not commas. Nobody had $4,000 for a 50 foot lot in those days.

The Coupe with the radio antenna also has aftermarket drum headlights. That picture was posed with an extra guy. I don’t think you could all 3 in the 20 model Coupe.
I have a 24 and there is no way 3 full size adults could fit inside. Sure one could sit in the passenger side lap but even then a kid might, but a full size person I don’t think so.

Barry, if that is a decimal point, the last zero would represent 1/10th of a cent!
I was more taken in by the stretched limo. The destination sign on the vehicle is clear. All the printing in the background is reversed, suggesting a negative reversal. I can't reconcile this.

If you read about the boom and bust in Florida during the 1920s, that’s for sure thousands.

The reversed printing looks to be the back side of printed curtains/banners on the far side of the vehicle. I believe that the picture is good as shown.

Hey there Tim J,
That radio antenna is typical of 1920s radio receiving antennas. I was wondering where the radio was. Maybe in the trunk? People into such things often took their radios which most in those days were battery operated anyway, with them and would set them up at picnics.
The stage car is very interesting. But I am having trouble googling or mapping Dunedin, Clearwater, and Largo. While Dunedin is a significant port city in New Zealand, there does not seem to be a corresponding Clearwater or Largo. Largo is a significant area in Florida USA, with a Dunedin nearby. The stage car appears to be left side driven? So maybe that thing was used in Florida?
Regardless, similar stage vehicles were made and used based upon the model T chassis in several parts of the world. I have seen photos of maybe a half dozen such contraptions. I doubt they were very practical, and likely had to be hinged in the middle for minor grade changes. The rear axle was steerable, either mechanically (I saw the designs for one such several years ago), or simply castered to follow.
