Can someone measure the location of where the top pivot should be located on a 26-7 roadster. the previous owner had started assembly and has welded 1x1 square tube to inside as shown, plan is to locate drill and tap and or weld top pivot in place

and if possible send a picture of the tack strip angle and suggestions on what this should look like. plan is to remove temporary bolts and weld once angle is understood, i have not worked on the wood strip tack rail.suggestions would be appreciated
Thank you for your help

I would suggest fitting the tack strip to the trunk before welding anything. Yours fits about how I remember my ol roadster...

As for the front pivot support, the inner brace is still attached to your car, and has a circular notch cut in it to clear the nut on the inside. I would imagine if you ground off the primer, you would see the filled in location as well

Thank you , just the info i needed , will heed the advice of fitting tack strip, been looking at possibly synthetic or laminating, the picture of end profile helps a bunch. the gentleman who started on the car passed away so i don't have much reference and am missing many small detail parts, my touring needs tack strips as well. mtfca website has been great for information. Thanks

I found this today while sweeping up. Here is a steam bent wood tack strip which the supplier states is made to Ford prints. I used these on my '26 and am happy with them. The strip is not rectangular and the corners are not square. Shown on a one inch grid.

I’ll chip in here as well, as I’m basically at this spot, although I’m looking for top irons!
