I assume the best way to remove a door on a 1927 coupe is to take out the hinge pins. I haven't tried it yet. How difficult is it?

Yes, knock out the hinge pin with a hammer and a punch. If they are worn or damaged the new 1928-29 Model A pickup door hinge pin is the right one.

Jeff, Are the Model A hinge pins correct for all (or most all) of the Model T hinges? I have hinges without pins and will need to find pins at some point in the future. It would be nice to be able to purchase the correct ones the first time out.

The Model A 28-29 closed cab pickup has the same door as the Model T 26-27 coupe. In general, when it comes to new parts for the 26-27 coupe door, the Model A suppliers have more parts and with better quality than the Model T suppliers. Regarding model A parts that fit other Model T's, except for the coupe door, I do not personally know of it. My preferred source for new Model A parts is Snyders Antique Auto Parts. They seem to have broken the code on the 26-27 coupe door and offer the same parts with the same part numbers in both the Model A catalog and the Model T catalog.

I knocked the pins out when I restored the fordor, but now the pins stick up a bit since afraid to pound them back in and removing the paint So is it a good ideal or not?

Not a good idea. Maybe you could use a C-clamp to push them down. Glue some hardwood pads to the C-clamp and tighten it on the pin, then tap the handle end of the clamp screw lightly with a small hammer. The pins need to fit snugly. New paint will usually cause some binding. If the pins were knocked out, the hinge parts may not be aligned exactly. If that's the case, finding some rod the same diameter as the pins and grinding a taper on one end and working it into the hinge can be helpful. It's not likely you'll end up with perfect paint on the hinges. Having the door partway open may make the pin easier to install.

I have a coupe and a fordor so i bought a hinge pin remover from Snyders, it takes them out with little fuss and pushes them back without taking the paint off.
