My dad alway told me, your not stuck if you can still see the tires.
I grew up in northern Michigan. Pleanty of times you couldnt see the car.

We had winters where that was necessary if we wanted to go for a ride. I haven't needed or wanted to for several years although we still get out and drive in the lighter snow.
