Hoping someone here can recommend a quality brass plating shop. I'm in Ohio where I will assume EPA regs have all but deleted this service. FWIW, I recently had some parts done by a brass shop in nearby Dayton Kentucky that I would not recommend.

I looked into this last year and found it so ungodly expensive that I went to the Caswell website to see what they offer. They have a process that somehow involves electroplating with a brush-on concoction, if I understood it correctly. I wonder if anybody on the forum has used it and can report on how well it works.

When I was doing my 13, I had the levers GOLD plated at the suggestion of the plating shop. Their logic (which 20 years has verified) is that it essentially looks the same but NEVER tarnishes!!

I have used the Caswell kits for some gun parts works OK on small parts. I could see doing some small levers, knobs, things like that but I wouldn't try a radiator shell.
Like any metal work though the plating is only as good as the prep, polishing, and degreasing done before plating.
