I’ve got this Stewart model C speedometer that works fine but the numbers are rust stained. The number decal also is starting to peel off.
It looks like there would be some type of computer program that I could take a picture and somehow restore it and print it out or recreate it and print it out. Then I could affix it to the drum. The problem is I don’t know how.
I downloaded photoshop but I didn’t find it helpful or I don’t know how to use it. I know they sell decals for Model A speedometers. Does anyone know a way to recreate the decal?

Dang, Corey, you just missed my ad that I posted in the classifieds within the last week. I just gave away a bunch of Stewart speedometer parts with perfect, and I mean perfect, odometer assembly and speed drum. They are going to a guy in Ohio.

Corey, The speed drum on the Model C can discolor and darken, and the decal is unlike any other Stewart speedometer. I made a speed drum decal that I use when restoring this speedometer. The speed drum needs to be removed from the speedometer body, and the hair spring must be removed from the drum. It is not an easy process. Contact me and I'll give you all the ins and outs. I’ve used the “Paint” application on my windows desktop to create and print replica decals for my airplane. It has an option to use an inch scale with 0.01” resolution, and prints out very accurately. I don’t have the number offhand, but Avery makes a decal paper for inkjet printers that has a clear adhesive overlay to protect the printing.
