He was a great guy and wealth of knowledge. A true Car Guy. His restoration work was top-notch. Many of us T folks remember him as a car judge at the OCF.

I've known Pinky since 1961, and last saw him at Hershey last year. He was one of the earliest members of the VCCA, and was a true Chevrolet enthusiast. As I recall, he bought the last Corvair to come off the assembly line in 1968.

When I was active in the Vintage Chevrolet Club in the 1990’s to the early 2000’s Pinky Randall was the go to guy for early Chevy info, kind of like Bruce was to the Model T Ford. My condolences to his family and friends, his passing is a loss to the old car hobby.

My sincerest condolences to his family and those who knew him. I never met the man but a 1980 Automobile Quarterly showed the most beautiful early Chevrolets I could imagine. His genius for bringing their charm out was obvious. I knew a man named "Pinkey" had to be Great. The mere mention of his name to early Chevy folks opened a lot of doors to this Ford guy. Like so many of the greats, I wish I could have known him.

Keeping this T related. My friend Ron tipped me off that the 100th anniversary Chevrolet tour would be making a pit stop at his starter and alternator rebuild shop. I just had to crash the party with our then-unrestored 27 Fordor. Pinky was of course there, and gave a little impromptu interview.

Mr. Randall’s mercury bodied Chevrolet speedster is probably among the very best restored Mercury bodied cars out there. Just stunning ( even if a chebby! ) It was displayed at the OCF several years ago, and I believe it resides in the GM heritage museum.

He was a special friend and a real gentlemen. I was surprised to see this on the Model T Forum. He was a Chevrolet only collector , but had many friends that collected other makes. and respected everyone's choices. A story which he shared with me 50 years ago.I asked him about the nickname "Pinky".His older brother was a jock and popular kid. His nickname was "Red" . Well the older kids where calling him little Red . One of the boys started calling him "Pinky" which is a lighter shade of red?? It stuck to the age of 94. Hoe excepted it and to all his dear friends he was "Pinky" Mr. Chevrolet. Sympathy and condolences to Joyce and family.

Sorry to hear it. The 14 i have came from Houghton Lake and was used to go on gas lite tours with Pinky. Many years ago we were in Coty WY and i spotted more old Chevys than i thought existed so we followed and there was Pinky in a Little the foruner to the Chevy. I also met a fellow from Calf i had lent a book on a early Chevy plant! Bud.

Pinky was a great friend. We served together on the AACA National Awards judging team, and for many years, he and Joyce were my next door neighbors at the Carlisle swap meet. He was a true mentor who always had a big smile on his face. There are so many stories to tell. We'll never forget him, RIP my old friend.

A very interesting person. I met him just once when he came to pick up a 1918 Chevy Couplet I sold him.. That was in about 1964 when I was teaching in Wasau, WI. While I like Fords, I did own a nice 1926 Chev. Superior K roadster and several modern (1950 and 1953) Chevies..
