New trunk floor for coupe?

Does anybody know where I can get a new trunk floor for a 27 coupe? Mine is rusted out from the hump back.

If it’s not in the catalogs... you may need to do it yourself. I had to make one for my late 27 roadster as the trunk floor is different than the 26 early 27 that is available (I believe is produced by Howells). A hot rod shop with a Pullmax forming machine can easily produce what you need (I used a Pullmax to make this one)

But as Kevin Pharis stated above on this original post, Ford apparently redesigned the coupe trunk floor during the 1927 model run, so early and late 27 coupe floors are slightly different. The one Howell's makes is the 26-early 27 floor. I, personally know because I came up against this when restoring my Grandfather's late 27 coupe. The car's original metal floor was very badly dented from heavy objects being dropped on it and had some rust; not near as bad as the severity of the dents. I bought the floor that Howells makes and took it to my paint and body man. we were amazed that they were different; not terribly, but still different. I chose to have my body man modify the new floor pan and use it. The original came out in one piece, so on a trip to Chickasha, where I knew I would see Howell, it took the floor pan and we compared it to the one that he makes and had at the show. I made this one for a '22 Coupe with just a bead roller and small metal bender. The original had an "X" pattern in the beads but I just ran the length.

Well my car was made in March, maybe even later, so I guess it constitutes as a late model. Here are some bad pictures of the floor and the trunk area. Not sure what to do. It looks like it is one piece that goes under the sheet metal square next to the battery compartment and riveted down under it. I cut the old pan out.

I think many of the trunk floors got dented from people dropping blocks of ice into the trunk. Ice for the icebox, of course.

Nice work on the new panel Perry. I was lucky enough to save mine for as bad as the other metal was. I show it here for contrast and the X pattern. Those panels are often the worst.

Thanks for showing the original "X" pattern in the floor pan. My bead roller didn't have a deep enough set back to put the metal in without hitting the corner of the tin before reaching the center. I contacted a local race car builder who had a big roller set up but he wanted $300 to roll the beads even if I supplied the tin and assisted him in the rolling process. The filler that shows in that photo was to cover the indents where the support braces are attached to the pan before I painted it.

I think what you did works great. That is something that isn't seen much. I had a roller but never learned to use it. I know they have their limitations.
Kevin's panel is very nice too. These are the type of things that good to see on the forum.

Well I have decided on making my own panel. I will have to get a good 4x3 or 4x4 piece of 18 gauge steel to do this, there is a place in town I will check with this week. I still have to figure out where to take it to have the ribs put in and what to do with the hump.
