How about this ? No information with the photo, looks like foreign military.

I love that thing! I have a few different shots of it saved. The front tag is turned around backwards and they painted words on it. Says US ARMY on the top but I can’t quite make out the bottom half. Looks like ORDDEPT not sure

The bridge looks a dead ringer to the Monroe St. Bridge in Spokane.

Never could figure out how they made it turn Any ideas?

I believe they just turn the wheel and the tracks just cater to one side with the wheel. They are called “chase tracks” they keep them selfs centered with the wheel because they are flexible. Basically drives the same just more traction. Also when it’s running the front wheels don’t touch the ground. Just like a tank.

Thou not a T but these examples might help visualize how the track moves. Kinda like a snakes belly. Just follows the head.sorry Iam a fool for things with tracks

According to that article it was steered with differential braking on either side of the drive axle. I would think if you turned the front wheels with those tracks on you’d make the inside track loose and stretch the outside track.

Your right! I did see that. Makes me wonder if the brakes added are only to aid the inside track during turning? You can see it still has its steering tie rod in it. I wouldn’t think it would take much to make it turn. this picture you can see the large break drum. Looks like it has a guiding/drive apparatus strapped to the rear wheel. I used the motorcycle examples because that’s how they turn by flexing the track. But I guess I could be wrong.

found this drawing. Pretty neat.

this one shows the flexibility they had. One article started the steering wheel was kept so you could take the tracks off and drive it normal. Can’t seem to find how the brakes are applied.

Interesting that on the 2 wheel version they are using solid rubber tires.
