Ford New York Branch store photo, with an unknown car.

This photo (courtesy of Detroit Public Libraries, all rights apply) appeared in a spring 1908 "Ford Times:"

In addition to the Model K touring and Roadster seen in the photo, two cars can be seen in the showroom. The center inside car is another Model K roadster (long hood, long angled steering column):

What is the fourth car (below)? It has a center hood strap, a single or double rear rumble, and a distinctly downward curving rear fender, unlike Model S roadster fenders, that have a sweeping angle similar to the Model K Roadster.

Rob-
I know the color is not right, but maybe a Model S touring?

Keith,
Thank you, and also thank you for your assistance last year. I'm familiar with that "S touring." Cecil Church, who at one time owned the Model K touring I used to own, extensively researched and cloned that car. There's a good article about it in a mid 70's Model T Times.

In October, 1907, Ford Motor Company audits reported 2 Model T, one "Rumble Seat" and one "Laundaulet" (their spelling, not mine) were sold. These weren't NRS cars, as the price was different, $720 for the "Rumble Seat" and $850 for the "Laundelet." While news articles may, or may not be accurate, this was an audit, reporting actual sales and revenues.

There were press reports of a Model T touring, Laundelet and Roadster being shown at the New York Auto Show and Detroit Auto shows in late 1907 as well, describing the touring and roadster as Model T. We have an artists drawing of each, and possibly a photo of the Landaulet.

Below is a copy of the FY 1908 audit, with both listed:

Closeup - the "Sales" column show the T and Laund. were priced differently from the NRS models shown (divide number sold by "Sales" column):

Motor World article, "Ford's Triple Surprise," October 17, 1907:

A similar newspaper article from September, 1907, reporting the new Fords would be at the New York Auto Show:

1907 Ford Model K 6-40 Roadster --- could it be the same Model as the roadster in front of the building?
