Picnic weather !

Post by Rich Bingham » Fri Jan 14, 2022 3:53 pm

Photo is dated 1917. No worry that another passing car will raise dust over this happy scene.

Looks a bit like the Walton family on an old TV series. Especially the mother. If she cooks as good as my wife, she is a keeper! We just celebrated our 64th.

Looks like the T they were driving is a 15 or 16. Don’t see many folks these days having picnics like that. Getting to be a thing of the past. Nowadays it’s tailgating at a football game I guess.

Those were the days before roadside hamburger stands and fast food drive ins got popular. That was coming down the road though as more people got on the road.

The local farmer may trot by in his buggy, or one or two cars may pass, nice to escape the heat of the city.

The car appears to be a '15-16, as mentioned by John K. But the top is the style of 1917 or later, so it probably has been replaced. I guess it wouldn't take many years to deteriorate if it was sitting out in the weather 24/7.

For the past two years, the local club, Fierelands Timeless T's club in norther Ohio, has been doing picnic tours nearly once a week during the touring season.. We really enjoy them. There are many places to hold them. Some are in rather in secluded wooded areas, others held in populous areas such as a Lske Erie beach park.
Tim Wrenn often post pictures of them on this forum.
