Coil rebuilding

I was thinking of reworking some coils. What paint should I use on top? Someone at one time said not to use paint with carbon in it.

I use black ink jet printer ink.

You can use a large felt tip black magic marker to “paint” the coil top. About 3 coats will do it. Easy to do.
