1911 fire wall and fire wall support
Hi all,
I am working on a 1911 Model T Torpedo.
Last week I ordered the right fire wall and finished the clear coat job.
I have questions about the fire wall supports. Are they different as the 1913 support?
In the fire wall, on the car they are three bolt to attach the support on the fire wall.
On the fire wall, I ordered, there are only two holes to fix the fire wall. The drawing shows the same.
Can some one post some good photos of the 1911 torpedo fire wall and the way it is attached to the body and the frame inside and outside?
Thanks
Andre

Re: 1911 fire wall and fire wall support
the 1911 " torpedo " has unique frame to firewall mounting brackets .
It has two mounting holes to the dash & it is offset 2 inches to the rear where it mounts to the frame,
as the torpedo hood is 2 inches longer .

Sorry for the wacky orientation but this should help. These are the dimensions from a likely repro bracket I have. Email me if you need anything, good luck!

Ahovey,
Thanks for posting the drawing .
Can you tell me the dimentions on the torpedo style brackets.
Vertical holes, center to center 5"
From bottom (frame side) to lower vertical hole center ?
Horizontal holes center to center ?
From bottom corner to center of first horizontal hole ?
Many thanks

Re: 1911 fire wall and fire wall support
This may not be important and incorrect. I noticed that the firewall is drilled for the steering column bracket. I have been told that the lower hole is offset only on 1913. It looks like the firewall is drilled that way. I will not feel bad if I am corrected!!! Dick C.

Austin-
Thanks for those dimensions.
What is the dimension from the flat back side to the center of the back hole?
What is the distance between the holes?
Thanks,
Keith
