Window Regulator Problems
So I pulled the driver side regulator out of my 27 Coupe and I think I figured out why the glass fell to the bottom of the door. It looks like somebody did a homemade repair to it by brazing part of it in place. The shaft has a bunch of play in it, and it doesn't feel like there is any notch inside to grab the regulator teeth. My question is, can it be repaired, and if not, what should I do?

Buy a new one. Lang’s has them that will fit you car. Reasonably priced. They have for either right or left side 27 closed car doors. $47.95. Right or left You can repair them but after a while it’s time to move on. https://cdn.modeltford.com/i/c/476375l.jpg

I agree with John, but I'm curious what failed. Since the teeth on the large sector look perfect, The pinion gear might be ok, just turning on the shaft, but the worn bearing and prior repair would still cause me to pitch the part. I'd order a replacement and once you have it 'open up' the old one just for curiosity. jb

Okay that sounds good. Are the repros pretty good quality? Have heard mixed response.
I pulled the passenger side out and it works as it should. It does look a little different though, I think the other one is replacement from years back.

With any of the new replacement parts you will always get mixed responses. Just so you know. If it fits works good go for it.
