Does anyone know what these are?

I purchased a bag of these several years ago. I thought they were emergency brake lever springs, but When I attempted to fit one on the emergency brake handle of my coupe, I could not figure how it fit on so it would apply tension to the closed handle so that it would open back up. Can anyone confirm that this is what it is, or if it is for something else, Please clue me in. Thank you. Jim Patrick

Without anything to indicate size, I thought they were tie rod groove-wearers. :D

The shape is similar to how many of the ant-rattlers are design BUT the ends of the arms don't match any. I wasn't able to find a picture of Baby Giants, so unresolved

When I was a kid my Uncle George (B.1908) called them "Antler Rattlers". I was an aduIt before ever hearing the proper name.

To this day I have to be on guard to not say, "antler rattler". It just slides off the tongue so smoothly. I'll bet he wasn't the only one who called them by that name.

Frank, in the bottom right corner of the first group of pictures, looks exactly like what I have. Do you know what those go on? Jim Patrick

Oh. I was excited about looking at my own picture. LOL! For those needing a size reference, each leg of the thing is about 3ā€ long and the wires are about 1/2 apart. I’m sure it is an anti rattler, as suggested. Just need to know what rattle it is designed to quiet. It is not a strong spring, like one that would be required to quiet the front tie Rod or steering rod. The loop, or bent portion that are facing eachother in the picture is about the size of an emergency brake rod or the spark and throttle rods. Jim Patrick

Prof. of All Things Model T Trent Boggess already called it in the first reply.

Those short wrap around spring anti rattlers are for the brake rod clevis, to stop the noise.

Likely another brand than the famous Baby Giants as those use a double loop, so the versions you have with single loop are just a competitor.

Could be these Samson brand? The larger tie rod version has only 2 loops. The Samson Jr. brake rod silencers aren't pictured.

If a Model T doesn't rattle, is it still a Model T?
