Great news, I’m tired!

- Arrived!
After a brief wait (somewhere between 4-6 months) look at what arrived! After ordering from Lang’s and learning about the back order I called all the other vendors. I always prefer to go where the vendor is helpful and honest. In this case it is because Steve Lang always goes the extra mile and has always been spot on correct. I found some other vendors who said they had tires but only after you order do they tell you they just found out they were out and are on indefinite back order. Guys if there are no tires just do the honest thing and tell us!
After many months waiting I got a call from a competing vendor saying he had them now and can ship. So I called Lang’s, Steve picked up the phone. He had none but his supplier had just called and they would ship in a couple of days. In about 3 days Fed Ex dropped them at my porch!
Manufactured in Vietnam and shipped to U. S. I suspect they may have enjoyed a long vacation in Long Beach!

I wonder how availability is on Blockleys. I intend to try those next time I get new tyres.

Good question! Even if they are available... the shipping might just cost more that the tires these days!

Shipping may not be a problem. The Blockley BE tyres are made in Viet Nam, just like all the others. Unless of course, like New Zealand made Firestones which had to go to the USA so they could be shipped to Australia.

At last report, our guy at Blockley went silent. In this case, no news is probably bad news. We need to revive that thread and see what we can learn.

I bought a pair of 30x3 and a pair of 30x3 1/2 tires from Blockley last October for our 11T restoration project. I think time from order to deliver to Kansas was under two weeks. They look nice. I did have to pay about $50 import duty on top of the shipping. They came by DHL from the UK.
Initially I was going to order tires from the usual US tire suppliers, but no one had any 30x3 tires in stock and no firm date at the time on when they would be available due to shipping challenges from Vietnam. Perhaps that shipping log jam is now cleared.

It may turn out to be a good thing that you didn't. The Blockleys are claimed to be far superior to the other Vietnam tires. If they last just 25% longer they will be cheaper per mile, even with the extra fifty bucks on top of shipping.

We all have our favorites. I think the Blockleys are ugly. I don't care how much better they are. I've got Firestones on all my cars, and they are nice tires and look good too. My only wish is to get a USA tire company to start making tubes again. I'm tired of this imported junk.

By all reports I've seen, the Blockley tubes are very good. They will probably fit in those inferior Firestone tires.
