Gas tank repair option

At a "Shop Talk" in Mid-Michigan yesterday I learned something that might be of interest to those of you with gas tank repair issues. There is an outfit near Flint <https://www.gastankrenu.net/> that people have used to repair Model T and A gas tanks that in the old days would have gone to the trash pile. With new tanks hard to find, repair might be a good option. Gummed up, rusty, perforations, etc., apparently is not a problem for them. Those who've used their services have been very happy with them.

I assume other areas of the country have their own shops offering similar services but if you're in a bind you might consider shipping your tank to them for repair.

I have no connection at all with the shop and they have done no work for me. Others who have more info or experiences should feel free to contribute to this thread.

Tim and everyone

that outfit has franchised the process and it is available in multiple other locations, too. It's actually been around for a long time and has seen surprisingly little exposure on the forum. It is worthy of being mentioned here given the present dearth of new tanks.

I understand that the end result is very effective (but unfortunately won't look original due to exterior coating). The cost will make you pine for the good old days when new tanks "were too expensive".
