I got this old auto folding chair from a Ohio man 92 years of age, who said it was for you to sit in and wait for help when you broke down.
I take it was in jest but I believe him. Are these chairs pretty common? Anyone have anything else made by The Imperial Bit & Snap Company?

Those are folding camping chairs. I have three of them. They are not real common but they do show up occasionally. The labels are missing on mine but they look just like yours.

Buffington was the patent and maker of most that you see. They are ingenious and actually very handy and comfortable. Yours is a bit different than a Buffimgton, but has a great story.
I bought a buffington from a picture once and was surprised when it came, as it was for a child. I then learned they made several sizes, and was a bit more careful after that.

Thanks for the stories and pictures, I will cherish the sturdy little chair even more now that I know a little more.
