I am changing from a vaporizer to a NH carb on my 1927 coupe. What carb adjusting/choke assembly do I need?

You need the later version of the carb needle valve.

Les, Yes, that second photo is before I rebuilt the carb. I do have the needle valve you refer to.

Good choice to change over to the NH. Do you have a hot air pipe? Jim

Jim, I don't have a hot air pipe.

Here is a photo of the rebuild carb.

I am selling the one shown in the picture on eBay that goes to a 1926-‘27 Model T equipped with an NH carb (item #1153074834485). You can see how it is installed in the picture of my engine. It directs pre-heated hot air from the exhaust manifold into the carb and makes the engine run more efficiently, especially during colder weather. Or, another option is to install an air filter, one of which I am also selling on eBay (item 115307494878). While looking on eBay, check out the other items I have for sale. All will fit the 1927-‘27 Model T. Parts are difficult to get now so these parts are available now at lower than retail prices. Jim Patrick.

It will run with or without the hot air pipe. The pipe will keep it from icing up if that is a problem in your area.
You haven't mentioned it, but do you have a way to operate the accelerator? The vaporizer had a method which goes over the top of the head, but the NH has a rod which goes through the block. You will need the proper part installed on your throttle rod on the steering column and will need a hole through the block between number 2 and number 3 and you will also need a hole in the valve cover.
I have heard about a way to adapt the over the head throttle rod to make it work, but have never seen one.

Bruce I changed out my Vape to an NH and ran a short choke rod through the same firewall opening as the mixing rod. With a floor switch a little bit of choke when cold and she fires up good every time.

When I changed out my standard group 1 6V battery for an Otima it seemed my coils buzzed louder and getting things to start a lot quicker.

Also get the Full Flow Float Valve and tool from Mr. Scott Conger that makes a big difference. Good luck and let us know how you make out with your upgrade.

Norman, There was a hole in the block, and a hole has been made in the valve cover. I will move the throttle arm down on the rod or use a bolt on arm.

Sorry for the confusion Bruce, I meant starter switch on the floor.
