Reproduction gas tank sediment bowl thoughts

I have a 24 T Coupe and been through the sediment bowl 3 times over the years to stop the slow weep leaks. Been thinking of buying one of the new repo ones and be done with repairing mine again. Anybody bought one and had good luck with it? Thanks for any thoughts about the repo version.

I have bought them for other people's cars which I worked on and they are good.

I've used them before too. Very nicely made. You may want to put just a tiny amount of fuel valve lubricant in there so the valve operates smoothly.

Thanks for the replies. It seems like the repo sediment bowls are pretty good. I’ll order one and hopefully be done for a good while of having to repairing the originals ever so often.
The gas tank is the original that was repaired one time and been OK for many years. This time will be the last time for a good while of having to do anything to the sediment bowl so we’ll see. Thanks again!

The reason I inquired about the gas tank was that the new sediment bulbs seem to nearly "bottom out" in the repro tanks outlet - seems as though "some" were tapped too deep. I added solder to the sediment bulb threads to build them up a bit. They are of good quality !

Thanks for the update on the sediment bowl. I’ll remember that. I’ll get some of the yellow sealing tape also. I’ve always used the white but the yellow is really for gas and other fluids.
Again thanks!

I've had no issues with original gas tanks, or original sediment bowls. A good sealing compound for the threads is Gasoila. I've found the yellow teflon tape works for awhile, but not forever.

I’ve been working on airplanes for nearly 40 years, and Teflon tape of any kind is taboo in fuel and oil applications. I used Permatex #2 on the pipe fitting of my “24 touring’s new brass sediment bowl because that’s what I had on hand. After I get the new steel fuel line and reworked cylinder head installed I’ll gas it up and see how it holds.
