1914 Horn and reed..

I have this reproduction horn/bulb that needs a reed in order to work. This setup was on a T but is most likely not correct. I would like to use the bulb and related but would like to find a more correct looking horn if possible. Will the reed shown in Lang's catalogue work with this and or should I wait until I find the correct horn?

This car is a "driver" however I would like to find parts that are needed and close to what was on there without mortgaging the house.

thoughts?

I've recently been searching for horn parts for my January 1915 body. I'll be authoring a post over the weekend with the info I've learned regarding 1915 and pre-1915 horn tubes. In the meantime, these are several of the previous forum posts I've referenced to coble together what I have learned. Unfortunantly, the common wisdom giver in these past posts and likely the best authority on brass T horns was R.V. Anderson, who is no longer with us. The Bruce McCaully book does not go into great detail on horns and variations. It just doesn't. good luck in your quest. As with many T features, I do believe that there are few horn set ups out there today that are 'just like they came from the factory' due to the brass horns being removed from worn-out cars as things of value.

Thank you Andy. This is a good place to start, need to find the correct horn and some of the other related parts next.

Don't wanna rain on your parade, but last I knew no one had reeds. The mfg. is either out of business, or just quit making them. I've been on the "waiting list" for a year now. But good luck to you!
