Old photo - Boys in truck
I thought this was a good one when I ran across it.
"Farm children, Sheridan County, Kansas, 1939".

Re: Old photo - Boys in truck
Cutdown touring with upholstery overhang tacking strips. I think I can see the bracket for an oil sidelamp, in spite of there being no oil sidelamp? Wood square felly wheel. So likely a 1918 to no later than 1921. Truck looks like it has had a hard life, but is nearly twenty years old in 1939.
And that looks like a brand new Montgomery Wards tire on the back!
Wonderful photo!

Re: Old photo - Boys in truck
Farmers can certainly get a lot out of their vehicles. We bought a 2 year old irrigation truck...
When did I do that?

It has been a long time since the vehicle wore side curtains, but 2 side curtain hooks are still present. One on the lowest bolt of the windshield hinge. The second on the bottom cowl bolt of the side light bracket. Given the date of the photo, some of these youngsters may still be alive.

I love photos like these. Just a simple photo capturing a moment in time so long ago.
