Parking Brake Woes

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here...... I took off the Parking Brake Assembly and replaced the pawl and, for extra insurance, the quadrant. I also have one of those accessory springs. I should be in good shape.....except I can get the holes to line up on one side of the frame when installing the assembly. What would keep it from sliding toward the passenger side? Is there a tab on the pawl that has to go on the passenger side of the quadrant? It sort of appears that way. It's an awfully clumsy thing to have to try to put together by myself. Anyone have any pictures of the pawl and quadrant? This has to be an extremely easy thing to do.

Yes, the pawl has a small "finger" that reaches under the quadrant and comes up on the its far side. This keeps the pawl in aligment with the quadrant, so it can't slip off to the right or left.

The quadrant would fit behind the "finger".
