I got a spare hub with my 1916 Town car.
Tomorrow i have to go to a pre 1918 vehicle event far from home. As my rear hub make some crunchy noises i thought it good to carry a spare hub.
So i checked with a spare rim to put it together in my car. To my surprise the location of the valve for the tube on the hub and on the rim do not correspond with the lugs of the rim.The car has detachable rims for 30 x 30 1/2 tires and the spare rim has the same tyre dimensions.
Hope i can attach the pictures.
So the question is are there different hubs? or there different rims other than for clincher or split rim?

The valve is put through the hole on the rim and the lug points on the hub do not aline with the holes on the hub in the first 2 pictures.
The valve hole on the hub is aligned to the valve on picture with the wheel on the car.

I would be more concerned with matching the tire/rim to the wheel in question. The slots for the lug bolts look entirely different and if so then it may be unsafe to use. It would be worthwhile to also show a picture of the wheel making the crunching noise as you may have an incomparable combination of de-mountable rims.

Has Chevrolet the same method if fixing the hub to the drive shaft? With conus and key? Think have to get the wheel off the car and measure.

The noise come from where the spokes join the fellow of the wheel in the picture.The have a little play there. Think have to renew the spokes in the near future.
The rim is for the car as it matches all fellows on the car and was on the car when i bought it.
Only the spare wheel has this mismatch of stem hole and lugs you see on the picture as the stem holes are in line and the holes for lugs are in different places.You have marked it on the spare wheel and the lug on the cars wheel are in a different place.

Thomas, it looks like you have a rim from a different car for your spare. The major difference between a Ford rim and a Chev rim is the different location of the valve stem hole. You have the same problem. The cure may be a simple as drilling a new valve stem hole in the position required. Before you do this, I would advise removing the spare tyre from the rim and fitting the rim to the wheel without the tyre. This will tell you if the rim does suit your felloes.
Your wheels do not appear to be standard Ford issue, so you do need to double check the fit of the rims/felloes. You are correct in your observation about the spokes moving in the felloes. Time to have the wheels rebuilt.

Sorry for late answer but was in near Livorno driving the T in the Toskana and no passwords for the forum on my mobile.
Coils hat no power from the batterie due to rain. Next day it was all well and car was running again.

i am the 3.rd owner but as i now know has wrong mudguards for a 1916 and the upper part of the windshield should be in metal not in wood but would be difficult to find or remade.
