So i pulled the oil pan to see what was under there and when i went to put it back on , i realized that there were 3 bolts about a quarter inch longer than the rest. Where do they do?
There should be no reason for 3 longer bolts. Most likely, when the engine was assembled, somebody just pulled some bolts from their nuts & bolts stash and 3 of them were a tad longer than the rest.Jonah D'Avella wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 3:58 pmSo i pulled the oil pan to see what was under there and when i went to put it back on , i realized that there were 3 bolts about a quarter inch longer than the rest. Unless you have an A crank, all the bolts are the same length. The longer bolts can go back away from the rod bottoms travel.Jonah D'Avella wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 3:58 pmSo i pulled the oil pan to see what was under there and when i went to put it back on , i realized that there were 3 bolts about a quarter inch longer than the rest. So what else did you find? Was the inside of the pan clean?Jonah D'Avella wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 3:58 pmSo i pulled the oil pan to see what was under there and when i went to put it back on , i realized that there were 3 bolts about a quarter inch longer than the rest. Where do they do?
