This is one of my favorites. It..."show's the train's inaugural run, pausing at the depot in Deer Lodge." What could be more delightful than an early T and a steam engine?

Very much so Dan.
Here's another version.

Well, the T is not a really early 1909. The rear butterfly bracket can be seen outside the rear fender.
Wonderful photo! Thank you.

Shortly after this photo was taken, the Milwaukee would electrify
the line from Harlowton, Montana to Avery, Idaho, and from Othello
to the coast in Washington. Steamers would turn over their west-
-bound trains to the electrics at Harlowton, only to see steam again
across "the gap" between Avery and Othello. The electrification was
only along the mainline, and branch lines retained steam until diesels
replaced them in the early 50's.
Speaking of the Milwaukee Road, ... I picked up these two marked
Milwaukee frames yesterday to finally have homes for the two marked
colored globes I have been sitting on.
